© 2009 Danse McCabre

We play all the obvious ceilidh dances – Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant, Strip the Willow, Eightsome Reel etc. – as well as a few fun and easy to learn ones like the Flying Scotsman, the ‘Helicopter’ and the Riverside Jig. We call all the dances and walk them through as necessary. We’ve played for a wide variety of people and occasions and always tailor things to suit the particular gathering. We never like anyone not to be dancing just because they feel they won’t know what to do. We usually finish off the evening with an Orcadian Strip the Willow down the whole length of the room, and Auld Lang Syne.
